Roots

An excerpt from Elder Burnham's email, dated March 6, 2010, entitled "Roots":

Thank you so much, Sister Wiscombe, for the letter!!! It was crazy to remember the days back in seminary 5 years ago. It seems now like a dream.

And speaking of dreams, this week Elder Bryson and I went on divisions in Alegrete with the Zone Leaders there. I hadn't been in that area, nor in that house, since my very first division on the mission a year and 3 months ago. Man, how time flies. When we did divsions, it used to be that I would go with one of the LZ's [Zone Leaders] and Elder Bryson with the other and we would stay in the same area. But, I had the idea recently that is would be awesome for us to not just work with other leaders, but with all of the missionaries that we could--to be out more with them and teaching them. So, we started now a new way to do divisions in which one of us just stays with the LZ's and the other goes with another companionship in the city. In total, I did divisions with six missionaries, E. Hurst (who is a childhood friend of E. Frei and is one of the coolest guys ever - one of those lifelong mission friend kinda things) and E. Borlot, the LZ's; E. Swain and E. Forastiero; and, E. dos Santos and E. Anthon. It was really cool to be able to work with these guys and get to know them better and hopefully help out a little in the work. I marked three dates with them which was sweet.

In our own area, the work is not as sweet and it is strange because I have no control over it. The thing is, we have some awesome families that we are teaching but many have to get married - 6, to be exact. So, they will be baptized, but the question is when because of the long process and the whole money problem. That leaves our ward without baptisms too, and drives me crazy.

I love you and pray that all is well. Thank you so much for the support.

Com Amor,
Elder Burnham
