Heaven on earth is having endless time with family. Coleson and I had a blast the week I was in Utah helping with baby Lia -- at least Grandma had a blast! I arrived on March 20th. Our schedule (mine and Coleson's) went something like this:
st: Shopping and a pit stop to Aunt Kaly's. We bought some items for Uncle Zack who is serving in Brazil right now.
nd: Church. It brought back memories of Zack when he was two--cars, cars and more cars!
rd: Playground adventure--We enjoyed some time at the playground, digging in the sand and going on the "big slide". The time is near approaching when Grandma can no longer fit in the slide tube! There was another young 2 year old at the park. Coleson was at least a head taller than the boy. At first, I thought Coleson was much older because he would run up and down the stairs, not be bothered by the dirt or sand, and was rambling about one thing or another the entire time. The other kid was crawling gingerly up the stairs, counting perfectly all the way, and taking his sweet time. But, the other kids was two or three months older than Coleson.
The first time around, I asked Coleson to wait his turn and not rush the child. It must have taken a good ten minutes for the kid to get up the stairs. After that, I simply told Coleson to be careful going around the boy. Coleson must have lapped the child three times on each turn.
th: Aquarium adventure--Fish, crabs, seahorses, stingrays, etc. If water is involved, then Coleson loves it!
th: BYU adventure--I'm so grateful for memories so that I can remember back to when things were perfect! The area has really changed, but I still love it.
th: Library adventure--Stories, toys and the crazy dance; what more can a kid want?
th: Dinosaur adventure--Scary at first, but a blast in the end. Coleson does not like dark tunnels!
th: Biking and walk adventure--This was a fun and hilarious time. It was a bright, sunny day, so we went walking. Coleson was on his "bike". We found some neighborhood children flying down a sidewalk-hill into the street. They were on bikes and scooters. Coleson joined in; stated differently, Grandma ran alongside Coleson as he flew down the hill into the road. I held onto his hooded sweatshirt to make sure he didn't topple or zoom into the road right into a moving car! Finally, Coleson wanted to be like the big kids and not have Grandma running alongside him. So, I waited at the bottom of the hill and told him to be careful of cars. Well, Coleson came flying down the hill, with the other kids behind him. As he got near the bottom of the hills, I saw his feet go out and quickly drag along the ground until he came to a complete stop right before hitting the road. The other kids flew around him to which he promptly screamed: "YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL OF CARS!!!" I couldn't convince Coleson that I would watch for cars. Everytime he went up, his feet hit the ground like Fred Flintstone. It was hilarious!!
th--Church and a giant snowstorm!
th--Home (boo hoo!)
