Week 40 -- Santa Maria/Cruz Alta

Happy's Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Thank you for all your hard work - especially you, Mom, and every that you have done, are doing and will still do for me.

Well, this week was crazy. We had transfers last week. It looked as though everything was staying the same, and I would continue in my area and in the office. But, on Monday night last week, a week after transfers, I got home to the news that I would be an "emergency" transfer to Cruz Alta because President had called new secretaries. So, now I am out of the office and Secretary life and back in the field in Cruz Alta with my new companion, Elder Frei. It is awesome because I already knew him before now and he is the man. He is from Saint George and is the friend of a couple of my friends from BYU. He played basketball at UVSC before the mission. It is strange, I never thought that I would have an American companion - at least not in the field - but, it is cool.

We worked really hard this week, and it was one of the best weeks of the mission. This area is great with good members who are helping a lot. We had two baptisms this week and have 2 marked for next week, with a possibility of 3. Our district is really good and we are looking to set some mission records - so I am excited.

Dad, it was good to talk to you my man. I read the scriptures but I am having difficulty understanding the new meaning. I will study it more.

Mom, time flies so Christmas will be here before you know it, haha. Thanks so much for everything. My favorite food is churrasco and there is nothing I have yet eaten that I do not like.

Thanks so much for everything, everyone. It is cool, Aunt Libby, that you met someone who has a son in Brazil. He is not in my mission but he is probably experiencing the same things!

Com Amor,
Elder Burnham
