National History Day

In years past, the ninth grade students at Rose Hill Junior High completed a huge Pac Rim project. This past school year, the school changed gears and decided to participate in the National History Day project. This was new territory for the school as well as the students. Thus, the kids only participated on a local, school level and not nationally. The project started close to the beginning of second semester and ended in June. It was a lot of work.

Alivia started out in a group, but mid-stream changed to a solo project. She elected to do her project on Joaquim Nabuco--a Brazilian Abolitionist. Finding material was difficult--better stated--finding material in ENGLISH was difficult! When all was said and done, Alivia ended up taking second place. GREAT JOB, Alivia.
