Week 29 -- Week 2 from Santa Maria

Well, this week wasn't quite as good as last week. We had a hard time teaching lessons this week because we have two companionships working together; so, we mark all of our appointments at night because that is when the secretaries work. So, during the day we only knock doors and it is very ineffective. This week was also a lot of work for the secretaries because Elder Amato of the Area Presidency is coming for Mission Tour, and they were really tired and stressed out. Many our appointments fell [through] because this week is Carnaval. Carnaval is the biggest holiday in Brazil and is basically immorality and beer. It is not good for missionary work. We had to stop working 2 hours earlier every day this week. Things just were working against us and our investigators were partying and no one was in church. Anyway, we are looking to improve a lot this week and prepare for some baptisms. We have more that 20 investigators who have baptismal potential, so, I am excited and we will see how it goes.

My new comp is the man, we get along really well. I am not playing a lot of piano because they only have organs in the branch and my old branch. I did play in Sacrament meeting on Sunday, though.

Thanks, I love you all!

Com Amor,
Elder Burnham
