About a month ago, I won a radio contest--whoo hoo--giving us two free tickets to the Tillicum Village here in Seattle. The station sent me one voucher, and I called Tillicum reservations twice, not once mind you, but twice, to ensure that the voucher was sufficient for two. I received a resounding "Yes!" So, I made the reservation and off the family went this morning for our outting to Tillicum. I knew I would have to pay for Alivia, but dropping cash for one ticket was much nicer than dropping it for three quite expensive tickets. Low and behold, we arrived and the stinking place would not let me use the voucher! Of course, with it being Labor Day, no one with authority was available at the radio station. Drats!
So, Plan B kicked in and we enjoyed some shopping through Seattle (antiques, the market, etc.) and then to South Center for more shopping and lunch. While at Pike Place Market, Alivia and I went into the "Bug Zoo"--over 50 species of bugs. I have never seen so many spiders and scorpions in one place! It was quite interesting.
Now we prepare for the first day of school. I love the Fall, but I really dislike sending my child off to school. I so enjoy having her (and formerly, them) home.
