Time is moving quickly for Zackary. He has been gone for over a month now. He will be at the CTM in Sao Paulo for about three more weeks, then he is off to the Santa Maria Mission for the remainder of his time in Brazil (22 months). Here is an excerpt from his last email:
"On Friday we had our first TRC, which is basically teaching a lesson in Portuguese for real. A member family comes in, we teach, they ask questions, and we get recorded. It was awesome! The teaching went well, Elder McGruder, Elder Jenson and I taught very well. We were able to get our message across correctly. There were many mistakes, but all it was clear and we taught for 15 minutes in full Portuguese. The best part is that when we watched the video, I didn't have any nervous ticks, haha!
This Friday we get to go proselyting again, this time at a park equivalent to Central Park. Everyone we have talked to says that it is the best place because there are a lot people sitting or walking slowly and there are many families there. I am very excited.
Elder Johansen, one of my friends from BYU, left this week; and, Elder McCune, who I think you met Mom, leaves on Tuesday. It is crazy to see and hear about all my friends serving missions. We are an army!"
Until next week . . .
