Week 21 -- Week 12 from Sao Gabriel

We had a wonderful conversation with Elder Burnham on Christmas day. He sent us a phone number and a time to call. Using an international calling card, we were able to connect with him with no problem at all. He sounds great, is happy and is loving his mission. He relates that it is a lot of hard work, but is well worth the effort. We received a short email the following Monday entitled "Christmas and Transfers".

Well, it was great to talk with you guys on Christmas and hear your voices. Christmas here was good. We just ate, played soccer and watched movies; and I had a few gifts to open which was really nice. Thanks so much to the Rutters and the Calverts for their packages and all that was contained inside: especially the CD from the Calverts and the peanut butter from the Rutters! I don't really understand why peanut butter is such a big deal in packages, maybe because it is true American - but I know that I was super excited when I saw it! Today was transfers, and I am staying in São Gabriel - thank goodness! My district leader is leaving, but everything else will stay the same here. I have one more transfer here in São Gabriel with Elder Abreu, and I am excited to work in comfortable conditions and Bah-tchê-zar!

So, yeah, everything is great . Thanks for everything you all do for me, and I hope all is well for everyone who reads this.

Com Amor,
Elder Burnham

Thank you so very much for your support of Zackary. Your kind gestures and your prayers on his behalf are greatly appreciated.
