I am terribly sorry for taking to long to post Elder Burnham's emails--if anyone is even interested besides me! Here is an excerpt from his email last week, which he entitled "So, a new president, huh?":
"I had completely forgotten that Obama was to be sworn in this week. It is one thing to be elected, another to step into the Oval Office. Oh well, I hope he does well...
This week was fun. I just finished playing some volleyball - American sports are always a reverie here - and eating pizza (I made good sauce, most Brazilian pizza has no sauce). Yesterday, I got to hear the talk that President Monson gave at BYU. It was awesome, especially understanding him in a different language; though, it is much better to hear his actual voice. I actually saw two girls I knew in the choir, haha. On Saturday, we had the baptism of Francielle and it was great. Many members of her family, who are not members, were there and they were commenting on how special it was and things like that. Tomorrow is Zone Conference which, as always, should be very good. The hard thing here is still trying to get people to come to Church. They have to go at least two times before baptism, but getting them to have the will to go the first time is the hardest. But the work is going well, and we are working very hard."
Thank you for your love and support of our Missionary Son.
Until next week . . .
