CALLED TO SERVE

Before I forget, let me share with you a little tidbit from our Family Home Evening on Saturday, August 2, 2008--right after our family 5k, dubbed "Zack's Farewell Tour":

After a lesson by Jeff, we shared "talent". Lin's family did a song and Coleson rocked his little body to that one. It was incredibly cute. Alivia played the piano for FHE. Zack played the guitar. Kirstin appeased her mother by reciting a poem she learn nearly 23 years ago. Go, Kirstin.

Then, Emmeline, Joshua and Benjamin performed a special musical number. They sang the hymn "Called to Serve":

Called to serve Him,
Heavenly King of glory,
Chosen e'er to witness for his name,
Far and wide we tell theFather's story,
Far and wide his love proclaim.

Then there is a chorus...And, for the second verse they made up and sang:

Called to serve the people in Brazil
Uncle Zack is going on a mission
He looks hot in his missionary tag and
His missionary suit looks grand.

I think those are the correct words. It was awesome and adorable all in one. I have the most wonderful grandchildren.

I will correct the post once I double check with Kirstin. (I'll admit I'm a bit lame--my grandkids taught it to me today, but I am already unsure if I have it correct.)

Still no word from Brazil....probably next week.
