We received Zackary's second email today. The days seem so long in between each email. He is doing well and says that the CTM is "fantastic!"
One privilege that the missionaries have is that General Authorities from The Church come and speak to them at what is called a "Fireside"--or evening devotional. This week, Elder Didier came to speak. Here is an excerpt from Zack's letter: "Elder Didier spoke to us last night, along with his wife and her 98 year-old mother. It was very spiritual; he is a very intelligent man. [Five] languages fluent and at least 3 others that most would consider fluent; unbelievable."
In addition, Zack briefly described his typical day: "Everyday seems to flow together in my memory. Every week the schedule is the same, and almost everyday is the same. It consists of 4 hours of study in the morning, 3 and 1/2 hour classes in the afternoon and evening. The 4 hours in the morning make all the difference. When you can really focus and work hard you see such great results. The language is coming along very well. At times I almost feel as though I'm good at it... until the humbling stroke falls when I talk to the Brazilian elders, haha."
On Friday the missionaries travel into the streets of Sao Paulo to talk with its citizens. Zack stated: "I am very excited but extremely, extremely nervous. I can talk about the gospel and make the street contacts fine, but as soon as they ask a question I will be completely lost - pray for me...."
It is comforting to know that he loves the work, loves where he is, and loves the service. I know he is working hard, and that he will be blessed for his efforts. Until next Wednesday...breathe, Catherine, breathe.

I love hearing about your family and especially your missionary. We have a wonderful missionary here in Bermuda who is from Argentina. Missionary life is the best!
