Elder Burnham, November 16, 2009:
Well, this seems to be a rather eventless week. It was very good and we worked really hard, but nothing out of the ordinary really happened. I was in division this whole week, with three different missionaries - Elders Wiscomb, De Jesus, and Butterworth and it was great. I like working with the younger guys on the mission and just help them out with the things I wish that I had learned earlier in the mission. It is strange because I am rarely with my companion. Just on P-Day and the weekend and even then we do divisions with the members to be able to teach more. But still, Elder Silva is the man. Next week is transfers. I hope that everything stays the same in my area.
Our work is going well and we have some very good people. On Sunday, we took some recent-converts and investigators to a Fireside by one of the institute directors here in Brasil, and it was great. He passed the clip from the film "Touch of the Master's Hand", and it was great; and, then a clip of Elder Holland's talk from April "None Were With Him." I could not hold back the tears. That is the second best talk I have ever heard--the best being Elder Holland's talk from this October, haha. Elder Holland is the man. It was a great experience for the investigators and even more so for the new members...
Com Amor,
Elder Burnham
