Merry Chrismas, everyone. The above picture is of Elder Burnham, currently a missionary in Brazil; and, Alivia in "Seussical".
This season was one of complete gratitude:
Little Amelia (8 mos old), as many of you know, was diagnosed with a brain tumor, including hydrocephalus, the Monday prior to Thanksgiving. She underwent more than 9 hours of surgery (two back-to-back) to remove the tumor (later determined to be benign). We witnessed a miracle and the Lord's tender mercies throughout the entire process--which continues to this day as Amelia continues to progress.
It still brings tears to my eyes as I remember the day I stayed with her in the hospital after her surgery, but while she was on a very limited diet. I pulled her in a pillow-lined wagon up and down the halls of Primary Childrens' Hospital. I must have walked for three hours just so that she could get some much needed sleep. However, the greatest moment was when she started fussing and I put the blanket over her face, pulled it away and softly said "peek-a-boo; I see baby Amelia". A faint smile crossed her face--tender mercy.
We wonder how little Coleson, Lindsey and Brian managed throughout the weeks that followed. Lindsey and Brian did an amazing job of keeping life as "normal" as possible for little Coleson. We know that stress was reduced thanks to family (especially my kind parents who had prepared for our Thanksgiving arrival only to have that delayed--with complete support and encouragement from them that we remain with Lindsey and family), friends and, most especially, the Lord and the firm foundation offered by the gospel. It is truly a gospel of Peace; a gospel of Unity; and gospel of Joy; a Plan of Happiness.
A heartfelt thank you for Brother and Sister Fromm who were there to take care of Coleson. Lindsey married into a wonderful, caring family.
Thank you for your prayers, kinds words, and well wishes.
