Baby Amelia . . . at home

I spent the good part of December in Utah with Lindsey, Brian, Coleson and Amelia. Although the circumstances for my visit were not pristine, I always welcome the opportunity to visit with these wonderful grandchildren.

Amelia came home from the hospital on December 4. Although the incision was still healing, and I'm certain she was still feeling pain, she managed to smile and be very pleasant. I would have curled up in my bed with my head turned toward the wall. Amelia, on the other hand, granted us tender mercies with her beautiful smile.

It is uncanny how Coleson can get her to calm down and/or smile just by saying her name--or even just walking into the room. She clearly worships her big brother.

Again, I am amazed at the strength of this young family in holding it altogether throughout this ordeal. Coleson surprised me the most with his understanding heart. I know that he missed Amelia and his parents when they were at the hospital, but he maintained his wonderful disposition despite it all.

Here are a few pictures:

Sweet smile . . .

Patient and serene . . .
